Hi, I’m Grandma Kylie. I’m a genealogist based in South Australia, and I help people uncover their family stories—whether it’s building a family tree, solving mysteries through DNA, or tracking down birth parents.

I got started in genealogy in the early 2000s while teaching basic computing skills. I needed something for my students to look up online, so I chose the National Archives of Australia and searched for my grandfather’s WWI records. That simple class exercise sparked something in me—and once the session was over, I kept looking. I’ve been hooked ever since.

My research is detailed, thoughtful, and sometimes a little bit forensic. I’ve got a knack for finding the truth buried in the records—especially when things are complicated or hidden.

I share what I’ve learned through my videos and livestreams on Tiktok as “Grandma Kylie,” where I talk about real research, offer tips, and sometimes just chat with a cuppa in hand.

Genealogy is more than a job for me—it’s a way of honouring the past and helping people understand where they come from. I work with kindness and respect, no matter what your family looks like — 🌈chosen family, adoption, blended generations, or stories with missing pieces. Everyone deserves to know where they come from.
